Eating Disorders uncovered & me

Who am I?

I am your host, Lavandula Petrichor. I like reading high fantasy, sci-fi, and horror books. My favorite shows are The Pitt, Heated Rivalry, and Interview With The Vampire. My hobbies include drawing (my favorite medium is white charcoal on black paper), playing Stardew Valley with my friends, and learning random science facts. One such fact is tied to my name. The etymology of Petrichor is “Blood of the Rocks”, referring to the scent released from the soil when it rains after a long drought. Pair that with Lavandula, a Latin word that refers to the genus of Lavender plants, and my name means Lavender-Scented Rain.

What is Eating Disorders Uncovered?

This podcast started as a shower thought, and quickly grew into a project I would have so much passion for. I created the Uncovered Studio to peek behind the curtain into the lives of those with an eating disorder, in hopes that wisdom can be gleaned to help yourself and those you care for.

My Motivation?

I am diagnosed with an eating disorder. Stories like mine often go untold. Without many resources to turn to, people with eating disorders often relapse, resulting in loss of joy, connection, and even their lives. I want to bring a feeling of common humanity to those struggling. Nobody needs to suffer alone, in silence.

How you can help?

You can provide information on research articles, books, and professional clinicians. If you have suggestions for podcast topics please fill out a form on the forms page. If you yourself would like to share your story on the podcast, please reach out. The more perspectives that are brought onto this project the less people will feel alone in their struggle.
